2 car garadge space

Hi all great forum
I got all the toys but no place to play

I need to put a control room, drum room, small equip room and Vox booth in the available space any suggestions? Also I need access to drum room from other garadge

Any help would be greatly appresaited

Warren,
That looks like enough space. Why not search through the designs threads and look at what others have designed. See what you like, then rough out a design for what your looking for.

Plenty of folks here will try and help tweak it for you.

And..sorry to be the one to point this out but its spelled Garage.

John if you are refering to the last drawing
with very minor adj it would be more than I ever hoped for
I will incorporate it into my layout and get back to you with more
? about construction materials ie. dual pane windows placement etc

I messed around a little using Micrograpx Designer and
was wondering if this would still work (before I screw it up too much)
with glass sliders etc. also as far as equip room I figure it would be simpler
to just make an iso rack for amps MX2424's, DAW's and any other noisy
gear

In the layout John suggested at the rear of the control room there was a large bass trap, my problem is, that space on the other side of the wall is required for an access to the walkway entering the house.

Does anyone notice any reflection issues because of angles of walls, glass sliders that enter the control room or between control room and live room. these widows are 4' by 7.5'

Might I also say just what a blessing it is to have a forum like this for those of us that are completly clueless ( ok I'm the only one) anyway

Warren - this is how a corner control room would fit in your space - everything is to scale , i.e. 8ft wide drum kit, 6' wide couch etc.

Well the only one I drew as double was the one with the double glass doors. You really don't have the space for double wall throughout IMO - a single wall with RC on one side would be adequate.

HI John:
I still have a couple of questions:

I have 3 each dual pane glass panels 4' x 7.5'
for the window between studio and control room
my concern is I believe that the glass in the panels
is of the same thickness, if this is not an issue to be
concerned over would placeing the two most outter
panels paralell and the third panel between them at
an angle be OK or overkill.

regarding the walls:
5/8 drywall (doubled) on each side of wall using steel
studs staggered 24' on center w fiberglass insulation
between, inner & outer portions of wall floted atop of 1/8" rubber
If this senerio is to thick what about the studs mounted sidways
to lessen space between inner and outer parts of the wall.

You need to check this thread out - same fundamentals apply to glass, as in 2 panels ONLY, one air space. The thread might also help with your decisions on wall construction -

The "leaves" referred to, include ALL barriers between ANY two areas you want isolated, whether they are room-to-room or room-to-outside, whether the air space is 2 INCHES or 2 YARDS... Steve
