In a typical colonial house with a Bilco door, and living room entrance:
HOW DOES ONE GET THESE DOORS DOWN-STAIRS??
The doors measure 72" x 80"
Mine don't fit through either door, and I'm guessing I'm not the only one who ran into this problem.
Besides cutting an opening in my floor, has anyone got around this, or found some solution that I might be overlooking?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Help!

You have to take the frame apart -BradJacob wrote:In a typical colonial house with a Bilco door, and living room entrance:

it should be screwed at the 4 corners - and probably stuck together with an adhesive caulk- but once you remove all of the screws - you should be able to work it apart.
If it's a wood frame - and put together with staples - then you will have to remove the staples in order to do it -
But - either way - you have to take the frame apart. Everything begins there.

Yeah I thought of that - first off, but I called and asked the guy at Lowes - his answer was, "no they don't come apart - they're fixed". But this is some guy's word. I haven't looked at them myself to see if this can be done.
They're vinyl and "look" like a one-piece unit. I'll have to confirm today.
Thanks!
