back wall material

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

back wall material

Hi all,
I'm building an absorbent back wall and have thought about using the Guilford fr701. I'm wondering about muslin fabric. Has anyone used this before ? Is it worth looking into (cheaper). Thanks again.

I believe most, if not all, the Guilford stuff is fire rated. Muslin is too - it burns VERY well :( You might check with these guys for alternative treatments, I'm not sure if it's cost effectice or not, but I recommend NOT putting anything that's easily flammable in a tight room with possibly only one way out -

Hope that helps... Steve
