soffit mounting near fields

John I had a designer from another site say that I wouldn't benefit from soffit mounting my behringer truths because the're near fields I think W would . What do you think?

There is a definite benefit.

I Have Mackie 824's and the imaging is off the charts better. Not to mention is the bottom more defined. these have been used by me in my studio and a few commercial SSL equipped spots around my area.

The Truths have front porting as well as a full array of low end compensation rolloffs and cutoffs. I would definitely consider soffit mounting them :)

cheers

Even if they DIDN'T have all that control, Barefoot's Baffle Step Filter should fix it... Steve

Soffit Mounting Mackie HR824's

Post by digitalelf »

Pardon me Giles117, do you have a picture of you finished soffit to share? I was planning to soffit my Alesis Monitor 2's but if the 824's sound better defined inside a soffit, that's the way to go? What do you say?
Thanks, Michael from Alaska

I'm Jealous. I had a pair of Monitor 2's and would have loved to soffit them, however, I lost them last year. :(

This is a photo before the finishing touches went in.

Excuse the room lighting. These were taken before I installed my lights.
