Broxx,
I cant imagine it would change any reflections in the room. If anything you are adding density to your walls. Not a lot, but some
I know some of the guys have just textured with out a knock down. And any good sheet rock guy knows its hard to do a smooth finish without seeing the joints.
I personally like the knock down / broquet (sp) finish. It also hides all your sins of tape and mudding

Thanks for the replys .. I didnt think that it would make much difference..
And a Knock down finish is where you spray thinned out drywall mud
with a popcorn hopper on all the walls which adds texture spolts if you will... and then with a large drywall knife you drag the spolts until you flaten them out to leave a decrotive texture on the walls... and as Tom pointed out I would be adding density to the room... Which is a good thing

Aloha Jerry,
Now that I've seen what you were referring to, in regard to your question:
- Size & shape of your room
- Ceiling height
- Any doors, windows, posts & their location?
- Drawing of your floor plan layout w/dimensions
- Pics of your room
- Are your walls angled?
- Do you have any absorption planned/in place?
- Construction used in walls
- Any other perceived boundaries or limitations?
I know this may sound like a lot, but the more info you can provide, the better anyone/everyone can offer suggestions that would be useful for your situation.
Aloha
Now that I've seen what you were referring to, in regard to your question:
The short answer is: yes, they will affect reflections off the walls. As far as how much & in what way, well, there are many factors involved and more information needed in order to begin to offer suggestions that would be useful to your build. Could you provide a bit more info please? (Forum guidelines) http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3231I'm concidering putting a Knock Down Finish on My control room walls. Knock-down finish - very slight increase in diffusion at VERY high frequencies, not sure anyone but your dog could hear the diff
consider that typical knock-down is maybe 1/16" to 3/32" deep, affected frequency would be over 30 kHz if my math-fuzzy brain's still fuzzing along... Steve
Soooo, when a Musician dies, do they hear the white noise at the end of the tunnel??!? Hmmmm...
