Does the angle of acoustic hangers effect their use?

I think I can get more hangers in my rear wall if I angle them.

Also, any body see any harm in putting a panel 4'x8' panel bass trap inside the back wall centered, then have 4-6" of 703 spaced out in front covered with burlap over the center angle? I'm thinking the bass freqs will still pass through the 703 and hit the panel trap. Basically hangers in the corner sections, and a bass panel plus extra 703 in the center section.

Yes Dave - hangers are often angled like you suggest. You know they are correct if you move one and the others move in a ripple effect.

John,
Do you mean that the hangers should be so close together that moving one of them just a small distance should touch the adjacent hanger? How close together should they be?

No Scott - they shouldn't touch each other - but it's a factor that when one is moved (Not touching the adjacent one) it causes the others to move as well - they kinda ripple down the wall. Looks coool
