newbie control room help

Post by smog »

Hi All,
I was wondering about wall and ceiling treatments in my small control room.
The whole thing is primed drywall with a wood floor right now. The measurements are as follows:

Length - 14’4
Width - 10’2
Height - 7’4

The left wall has the live room window (2’x3’) starting 2 feet from the front wall.

- fabric wrapped insulation on the back wall
- slot resonator on each side wall.
- Ceiling treatment would be fabric wrapped insulation in 1x2 frames over the mix position

Questions

- Should I use an angled back wall, or does the fact it’s absorbant negate this ?
- What should be on the front wall in front of the mix position ?
- Are there other threads someone has been involved in that may help ?

I’m sorry there’s no drawing here I will try and provide in the mean time. Thanks for all your help. I can’t believe how much I’m learning here on this site.

In your room I'd angle the rearwall forward from it's base so it';s around a foot off the wall at the trop,

You can put a slot across you front wall as well.

Check out Luis's construction - his pics really show ghow to do it :0
