THE Standard

Post by AVare »

I happened to run across a testing of THE standard construction which is the basis for almost all comparisons for isolation performance. It is on pdf page 74 of IR-818.

For those of you in suspense, the STC is 25.

I didn't realize that a single leaf construct was the standard; never seen a wall like that except in un-heated garages, or houses in Hawaii, where nobody even knows what insulation IS :? Steve
Soooo, when a Musician dies, do they hear the white noise at the end of the tunnel??!? Hmmmm...

THE standard as in "MLV's STC does more than (fill in the standard)" or "type x construction gives you 10 dB more isloation than a normal plywood wall (THE STANDARD!)" or "how much more soundproofing will I get than just plywood (again THE STANDARD!)" .

It is ubiquitus. It is my tongue in cheek.
