I looked at many plans here. The one thing I notice is that suggested plans ALWAYS have the entrance to the control room or workspace behind the desk. Is there any good reason for this? I am working alone and do not need a large live room. I never record any bands or other musicians (just myself).
I just have a personal prefference to have an entrnce in front of me or at least somewhere within my range of view while I'm working. Is this bad for studio design?
Entrance behind or in front of work space?

Look at all the plans on the site.. How many have sound treatment between the montiors. Not a lot, just maybe the old angled window to deflect the reflections off the front downward.
Which if you look at Barefoots speaker reflection graph, are extremely minimal. Especially if the back wall is adequately treated.
I Know in my spot I have not noticed anything. Although I have treatment below the window area and will be adding a mini slat resonator above the window.
So to sum it all up, I wouldn't lose sleep on the front wall being an entrance to the studio as having some MAJOR effect on your acoustics.
As far as I can hear and see there is minimal if any effect. Heck the monitors don't even radiate off the front wall.
I Have soffits in case U were wondering.
