New room in basement
I am building a new room in my basement. This is the configuration. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the shape of the room is going to affect the acoustics. The walls are drywall, the ceiling is acoustical and the floor is concrete right now. There is no treatment on the walls or corners right now. The picture posted was done with sketchup.
Thanks to all!!!!
Thanks to all!!!!

Looks Good, if mix position is in the east wall (relative to your drawing) then you are doing great. The depth will allow for Bass w/'s to fully develop and be absorbed by that rear absorber. I am assuming the side wall unist are the angled slat resonators????the only thing I would add is absorption on the ceiling above mix position.
Otherwise the only freq issue I think you might deal with would be around 400Hz or so.

Resonators on the side walls, just past your mix position (like a foot or so) to direct the reflected sound towards the rear of the room to be absorbed. Past that position do absorbers on the side walls

So Bryan, after I locate my mix position put the resonators a foot or so behind that location. Should I put an absorber between the resonator and the corner bass traps at the mix position? As you can see the short wall does not allow much room but the long wall does.
Thanks, TC

Not quite what I said. LOLTC wrote:So Bryan, after I locate my mix position put the resonators a foot or so behind that location. Thanks, TC
Place resonators starting just forward of the equipment position running to about 1 foot behind the mix position. If your monitors are mounted on stands place the resonators starting just in front of the face of the monitors running to one foot behind the mix position (where you will be sitting) then run Absorbers from that point on to the rear of the room.
Hope that is clearer....
