Wallboard weight per m2 question?

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Hi John, not the US but her goes:

Standart Knauf A 15mm: 12,5 kg/m²
Standart Rigibs RB 15mm: 12,1 kg/m²

These are the most common manufacturers in middle Europe.
It's standart Home Depot stuff, fireboards and the like are a little heavier.
