Hi all - I have been experimenting with the acoustics in the studio as you have read and I have remixed a couple of songs. Could you tell me what you think? Especially with bass and drums.

Thanks,

Sure; we don't actually have a specific place to do that since this is more a studio design site than anything, but if you have a link, nobody's being FORCED to listen  Also, if you have material that was mixed BEFORE treatment, it'd be cool to compare... Steve

Very cool! 8) (Mind you I'm not a recording guy, I'm just a stupid drummer, so my opinion may not be worth much!)

As I was listening to it, I thought, "Hmmm... The high hat is in my left ear. It should probably be in my right ear. It's backwards!" But then I realized I had my headphones on backwards!

Tastewise, I like damage1.mp3 best!

Been trying to find someone to put lyrics and vocals to that one, but so far no luck...

I think it are quotes like this that make people make jokes about drummers :)

besides, i know that for the public the hihat is on the right, but i prefer the panning done from the drummer's point of view (so: i like hihats left, even more, hihats on the right feel really awkward to me)

I have to reverse the stereo (or phones) when recording drum tracks, or it really throws me off - but I change it back for the mix, since not that many listeners are used to the perspective from the throne - just for fun...
