I'm looking for material in europe,
i can fin resilient chanel auralex RC8
but the sheet blok sound barrier is very very expensive here
in my very litle project, all the wall, floor and celing finished cost to me 1200 EURO but only 1 layer of sheet blok cost 1500 euro!!!!!
if i put 2 layer on wal the total is coming 3500 euro!!!

i'd prefer to use this money for audio material.
my wall are 2 and 2 layer off gypsum 1/2 + 3/8
3" mineral fiber (auralex one is 30 time more expensive)
rc chanel on 1 layer.
estimate STC 61 by gypsum company
CAN I FIND SOMETHING TO PUT BETWEEN MY gypsum less expensive?
i think about 10 to 25 euro by square meter. and not 50 to 75
my problem will be i must record real drummer in this room

i just read your post. You are in Belgium and have used resilient channel to build your insulation. Could you please tell me what brand and reference number (type) because here in France i cannot find this product (we are talking about metal bars fixed on vertical posts and on which you screw your
layers of gypsum) and it seems like nobody knows what i am talking about!

Hi Philip,

I too am building a studio in the Paris area. I'm not worried about resilient channels, I'll just use standard metal framing.

But have you found acoustic calking or a replacement? What kind of insulation have you found? I have an Isover catalog that suggests PAR Confort.

24 stuck for 58,5 metter for 144 euro without TVA.

there is also a gypsum company in belgium GYPROC (group BPB) "like knauf" that have any RC in ther catalogu the name is "profilé à ressort R866" http://www.gyproc.be/Files/frans/frame2.htm
