Timber walls acoustics, so much preasure to my ears...

Yesterday I was in a friend rehearsal room, with timber walls. Its sizes were 6'50 x 4 x 3(height) meters. The drumer starts to play and my hears feels a very high pressure on high frecuencies... I was been in the middle of the room.

This room has no other walls treatment but, this pressure is normal??

Yes, for an untreated room with live drums it can be painful... Steve
