Greetings everyone, I have been lurking a lot around here and now the time has come for me to take the plunge.
My new home's previous owner had converted the garage into a studio or better said, a big control room+ vocal booth.
John (hi John!) do you think I can build a piano room (It will be a 7ft Yamaha grand) and drums booth in that space? I tried making a floorplan and it sure looks tight but I am more concerned about acoustics ... What are the minimal "comfortable" dimensions for those rooms? Ceilings are flat @ 9'6''.
I am also trying to apply the "corner control room" design to this space but so far it does not seem like the way to go.
Anyways, the space now looks like this and I am just trying to grasp an idea of how this can be done. Please feel free to contribute.
Thanks in advance.

John, but would not that make the drums booth so tiny?
I was also trying to use the existing vocal booth ... Looks like I'll have to redesign the whole space after all.
I'll go back to drawing, check measurements and let you know.
Also do you feel the "corner design" is the most appropriate to that situation?
Thank you so much for your help already.

John I took very approximate "virtual measures" and I am delighted there's so much space available (see below). I swapped vocal and drum booths but now I have a pretty big vocal booth (won't hurt I am sure)
Of course walls width will make the inside dimensions smaller but it looks like we got a winner.
edit: I hear you about compromises but it looks like (at least on screen) that it should be OK, unless you feel those dimensions won't provide me with good sounding rooms. Please let me know.
