studio construction

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Your post seems to imply that you are quite new a thtis studio construction thing. A string suggestion: read Paul's studio buils diary completley t get an idea of what is involved to make it very properly and what is involved. Paul's Diary

Do a search here with "concrete", "floating", and "floor" and you will have a wealth of infomation.

Do you need a floating floor? It is not cheap and has acoustic negatives if not designed and built properly.

It would help in future if you included your space's third dimension, the height.

In addition to Andre's suggestions, pix from members' studio builds are found by clicking the John Sayers Productions logo at top left of the page - there is also a lot of info in the REFERENCE section in this Construction forum... Steve
