I have a new studio with a 9 x 12 x 8 control room and a 14.6 x 18.5 x 12 studio, which needs much trapping and acoustic work.
The studio seems to be more midrange-y than anything else, but could use some bass trapping, and the control room needs a lot of work due to it's dimensions.
Since traps and materials are so expensive, would rockwool work as well as rigid fibreglass for building simple corner traps? Is the density the same? What thickness would you folks recomend for corner bass trapping and midrange trapping?
Are these products similar enough?
Thanks for your help!
Newbie question...rockwool or rigid fibreglass.

Huh on the price remark. Yhick absorbent material IS what many traps are! Fiberglass/ rockwool//mineral wool are all interchangeable. USe the cheapest in your area. For any any given glass density, go one density heavier for mineral wool type. Eg: 2.5>3.0, 3.0>4.0.Since traps and materials are so expensive, would rockwool work as well as rigid fibreglass for building simple corner traps?
