need advice!! Please...

Post by Sérgio Duarte »

Hi, everyone...

I've been reading this forum for the past few weeks, just before I decided to build my home studio. I came up with a plan that I would apreciate very much that you all could criticize, and tell me what I should or shouldn't have done.

What about absortion and difusion? What woyld you do? I'm thinking of putting a slat resonator on the side walls, and a difuser on the rear wall...

Thanks a lot for your advices and comments...

Here's the plan : ( the red line are double brick walls with insulation between, the blue walls are the frame that I'm going to build. Dimensions are 5 x 3.5 x 2.8 (L x W x H)

Thanks again..

That looks fine Sergio. Your center speaker is actually closer than it should be but you'd have to move the whole front forward to make it work. You have the space to do it cos your rear speakers have room to go back.

Is that the entrance door bottom right??

Thanks a lot for your reply, john

I was thinking of putting a delay in the L/R speakers and on the Ls/Rs to all arrive at the same time as the center one. What do you think? I'm trying to have as much space behind me as possible so that clients have some space... What do you advise me to do?

I'm just not sure of how much absortion I should put! Whare should I put it!

If you could help, would be great!

Thanks again,

Sérgio

I wouldn't use the delay technique, it would only be a msec as you are only about 30cm out.

Make the front section reflective (yes use slots on the side) and make the rear absorption.

Thanks again for the fast reply!! :D

Why do you put the front reflective? Don't the reflections come right back at me? What kind of material should I put so that is reflective?

Thanks,
Sérgio
