My Gobo Build

Hey everyone!
Brand new to this forum. Wanted to share this Gobo build I am currently working on.
This is my first build/ design.
I am building 3 4'x8'x10" Gobos. One with a plexiglass window.
They are reflective on one side, and absorptive on one side.

I used 3/4" plywood sealed to 3/4" MDF (using liquid nail, and also a few screws)
The sides/top and bottom are 10"x1" boards that I also sealed on with a strip of liquid nail, and some screws.
I used some 1" strips for spacers to support the insulation, that I screwed into the MDF (these are very warped, but free)
Also added some braces, and corner support for extra sturdiness.
And finished that off with a seam of silicone caulk around the perimeter on the inside.


I have the 2 without windows assembled. Just have to sand stain, and then pack with insulation. And I am going to start building the one with the window in the next few days.

For the window I purchased two pieces of 24"x36" plexiglass (I forgot the thickness, but was one of the thicker that Home Depot had)
The plan is to angle the inside piece, and leave the outside piece straight.

These things are burly! Very very heavy (and thats without insulation)

I had a few questions/concerns maybe some of you could help. Also, very interested in hearing any feedback, if I'm on the right track.

I am a little hesitant on how I am going to do the fabric. Do you just staple to the inside and wrap it over? It seems like stapling to the outside frame would be easier, but doesn't look as clean.

Can anyone recommend some slick design or ideas for fold out or detachable legs (very nervous about them getting knocked and falling)

Finally-
I have some free foam (2" thick squares) it is kind of like cushion foam but not super firm. I know this is not the correct type of foam to use. BUT it was free, and insulation is expensive.
I was thinking- I could do 2 layers of this cushion-esque foam and then 1 layer of the Safe n Sound on top of that?
Any thoughts on how blasphemous that is?

I was looking online and couldn't find anything close.

You'd have to get your local metal shop to make them up for you. Get the wheels first so you know the height.

UPDATE-
Finally got all 3 Gobos finished! Posting some pictures of them.
I couldn't find a metal shop to fabricate the legs, so we ended up building these caster covers. They float the Gobos about 1/2" off the ground.
They have been used on several voice over recordings already and do exactly what they were built to do.
