chiller room silencers fresh in and out?

Hey guys,

im planning on building a basement controlroom and seperate jam room.

I currently in the design fase and i have some questions regarding placement of silencers and air flow fresh in stale out.

So i plan on construction my control room with inside out construction. drywall /plywood / plywood / insulation / cloth.

So how do I build my silncer in this wall? Do I make the wall broader and put extra insulation filling the broader wall ( drywall / plywood / plywood / insulation / silencers with insulation / cloth.
Or leave out insulation where the silencer and pipes are in the narrow wall??


Is it ok to have 2 silencer above one another? like fresh air on top en stale air close to floor?


Let's say i have a seperate room with a mini split in it transferring and receiving the air from my control and jam room. would it be enough to feed the chiller room with fresh air from my homes ventilation system? or should I let it suck fresh air direct from the outside? the air from my ventilation from my home has already been filtered and blown through a heatexchanger.

Your silencers can either go in your room or outside of your room. Either way, the sleeve must penetrate the wall sheathing. This sleeve has to have the same surface density (or greater) than the wall sheathing.

You should have your supply and return at opposite ends of the room.

A mini split will not transfer air from one room to another. It literally just circulates conditioned air around a room.

Ideally you want fresh air from outside feeding your rooms.
