quick question on room dimensions

thanks for the great input so far!

I'm still planning my non-commercial studio. It turns out I can't afford a acoustic company to come and plan my studio from beginning to end. Maybe I will be able to have someone plan the in-room acoustics once it's built, but the walls and ventilation I have to do on my own.

That's why I ask myself, how important is the exact position of the walls for the room acoustics? In the picture below as an example 3 walls (blue - just examples!). How much of a difference for the sound in the room would it be, if a wall is 10cm or 30cm further left or right?


Is it really worth 2000,- more to have somebody tell me an exact position, or is this money better invested in better aborbers, diffusors, etc?

would it be best to keep it as symetrical as possible?


some facts: outer shell is massive reinforced concrete, the walls I build are limestone brick walls, the whole studio build will cost around 7000,- (walls, materials, acoustics, planning), so it is not going to be high-end. the general shape is almost fixed and makes sense like that regarding neighbours. I will mix music and experimental film in there. I will use balcony doors, so that is the level I am working on.
