Popular Science wants to help you build your studio . . .

Post by Soundman2020 »

An amusing article from Popular Science, regarding how to go about building your studio . . .

So if you happen to be bored right now with building your studio, that's something that you might want to look at to relax for a few minutes, and see how it really should be done, according to their experts.

Well, some of the "advice" in that articles certainly seems to come from decades ago!

lol

The Pro-Tools-Expert blog has also been running a series/diary about the efforts of one of their writers to build a studio in an outbuilding on his property. Most of his ideas are generally in the right direction (if not always efficient or as good as they could be), but there's a lack of rigor to the whole process that's rather disappointing.

Thanks! Do you happen to have a link for that?

Yup! :thu: Why would anyone spend good money on proper studio reference monitors and extensive acoustic treatment, when its all so easy, as they say in that article? :) Darn! I guess we've all been doing it wrong all the time! (Somebody please call Abbey Road, Galaxy, and Blackbird, to tell them that they wasted all their money, and all they need is razor-thin foam and cheap hi-fi speakers from the 1960's ... :) ) ...
