New Studio

Post by AndrewMc »

Hi - First let me say this site is wonderful - I loved looking through all the studio's ongoing & reading the posts on the board.

I have a building in my garden that was in bad shape & I've been working on it with the aim of creating a studio space. The building is 40 ft by 15 feet x 8 foot high walls. So far - everything on the inside has been ripped out & all the exterior walls have been replaced with plywood and a new door put in. All the existing windows etc are gone.

The building is on a concrete slab & has a peaked roof - approx 12 ft to the peak (4 ft above top of walls). The inside is currently just bare - just the external wall studs & the ceiling is out.

What I'm looking for is some input on a design - I kind of want the music room to be big enough to just play as a band in, but also obviously not have the control room too small.

John - do you consult - i.e could I pay you for some help on design? I want to do this right, but I don't have enough knowledge of the subject to be sure that I won't do it all wrong.

Many Thanks !
Andrew
