Hey guys and gals.
My name is Tim. I have a 30'x28' metal building with a measurement of 9'10" from the concrete floor to the bottom of the trusses. It has all metal framework with sheet metal outer skin. It is covered inside with an inch of closed cell spray foam insulation. It has a 3' walk trough metal door and a 10'w x 8' h roll up door. It has its own electrical service separate from my house. It is in a residential area with the closest neighbor being about 150' away from the building. I want to be able to record loud rock and roll drums and guitar without bothering the neighbors to much. They are pretty cool but I do not want to push it. I would like to be able to get some of the room tone out of the live room for the guitar and drums similar to Kurt Ballou's God City studio in Salem Mass. I know his studio isn't huge and he is capable of getting great room sounds for hardcore and rock drums. This might not be too feasible with the square footage I have available but I need some feedback on this. My budget is about $10,000 USD. I have included a few pics of the building as it is now and a sketch of a layout that I have come up with.
What methods of construction do I need to utilize for isolation?
Is a MSM even possible with this building?
Is the layout I have included feasible?
Thanks

Re: Metal building studio build in Texas
Does anyone have any ideas? The ceiling is my main concern for isolation. I don't know if i should just build the double walls and put up another single leaf ceiling on top of the inner walls or if I should use resilient clips and hat channel across the trusses of the metal structure somehow with double layers of sheet rock.
