Garage studio Ventilation

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Garage studio Ventilation

Post by Jarrettpaul »

Hi, I'm building a studio in my 12w by 17 L garage. The ceiling is close to 8ft in one half and about 10 feet in the other. I'm thinking of putting an inline fan in the attic space above the ceiling. I'm wondering if anyone knows what is type of fan ( air distribution etc) might be needed to ventilate this size of space. The ventilation is a very overwhelming part of this project for me. I do understand I need an intake duct to the fan and an exhaust in the room for the old air to be pushed out. I was also wondering how far away the fan can be from the vent intake. Could I put a long duct from the intake vent leading to the fan 14ft into studio or do I need a short duct from intake vent to the fan?

Thank you
Paul
