Backside of the Bass Trap?

Post by jim69 »

Should the back of a 2x4 basstrap (filled with 703/gap/703) have a thin
wood backing? Or should the back be left open and be the same exact as the front?

I have a couple of frames I have made, ready to wrap the 703 up but not too sure
if the back should be paneld with a very thin piece of wood or not.

Thanks :)

Jim,

? Or should the back be left open <

Yes, best to leave it open. Adding a back risks reducing absorption at low frequencies.
