Acoustic panel placement in new room
Hi everyone! My wife and I have been fixing up a house we bought for about a year now and its finally time to focus on my studio! The room is roughly 14' x 19'6" and has an offset vaulted ceiling. I am looking for advice on how to effectively treat this room. It will be an all purpose room, mainly used for mixing but also used for tracking drums, rythm tracks, etc. My main concern is getting it as right as possible for mixing. It is a fairly small room, so I have no delusions of recording an entire band at once. Leakage into and out of the room are non issues as we live in the country. I will likely be building rockwool panels since I can get it locally. The walls are double layers of sheetrock and the floor is cement. I am including a simple sketchup of the room. My budget is under $1000, which should probably be enough to accomplish what I want.
