Acoustical Closet

Hi John,

I think I need a closet in one of the corners of my live studio....I believe I have some space to do it. Is there any acoustic benefit by having a closet in a corner...does it act like a base trap of some sort. how can I build it so I could take adavantage of the space.

If you look at my plan the closet will be on the north east corner.

well I suppose if you made it a corner closet, lined the interior with insulation and made a door with slots in it you'd have a corner resonator/closet.

would your low frequencies tighten up more in the summertime when you had all your heavy winter coats stored in the closet?
