The Recording Manual
Hi. I've been searching a lot here on the forum about mounting speakers in soffits, and I just wanted to share what I've learned/done so far. It's based on SAE design.
I've joined the sketchup file to see more details... (play with layers to see all parts separatly)
Any comments are welcome!
Yohann

Re: Soffit in 3d
Very cool sketchup work.
The SAE design is my design Yohann.

I wrote a recording manual in 1998 when I first got into the internet and computer graphics etc. I'd previously headed up a University course in Television and Sound Production and was fully aware of the lack of contemporary text books in the discipline.
I originally established a site called "How to build a Recording Studio" and it was the original studio design site.
The recording techniques section came later and it packaged into a Recording Manual that could be purchased on the web.
In 2001 I sold it to Tom Misner of the SAE. He wanted it as a reference for his students. BTW he promised to credit me, but never did.
The design you proposed to this site is the design this site generated.
I understand Tom Misner has recently sold the SAE for $1.2 billion.
So maybe he won't care if I give you the original Recording Manual from 1998.
Here's the online version

Re: The Recording Manual
I'm big on math and equations, so I postulate Tom's amount of "minding" can only ever be less than or equal to (never greater than) John's amount of "minding" for not being credited for his work...i'm guessing he might mind!!
