mark up and a desk?

Post by terrible_buddhist »

We are moving on to the control room for a bit...we just built and floated the floor (not necessarily in that order). The outer measurements of the floor are 152 inches by 108 inches. The height is about 7 1/2 feel tall from the new floor.

1) can anyone mark up this drawing so I can get my angles right.

2) does anyone have any good plans for a desk?

While I am at it, is it ok to angle the ceiling from front to back at a constant angle (starting low in the front and getting taller as you go back)

Ahh - thought so as it didn't tally with the original drawing I have.

Yes yoyu can angle the ceiling back as you suggested - it's a good idea to do that as you breakup the floor ceiling parallel and direct the signal to the rear of the room.

The angles are very straight forward. The speakers are at 30 degrees, the side splays are at 12 degrees. Mark it out on the floor and you'll see what I mean. :)

John, is there a chart somewhere that show how many feet out it takes to get certain angles? Correct me if I am wrong but, 5 feet out for every 10 feet would be 30 degrees right?

Also, are the side splays 12 degree's each, or total, and finally, what angle should I go for on the ceiling, should it be a constant angle?

John, that is awesome...one question, would it make a bit difference if we went with a 4 ft window?

John, I just realized the new drawing doesn't have the side window...that window winds up right on one of the splayed walls (which I also believe will need to be a slat resonator)...can this be accomplished?

Yeah - you can insert a window there - check out Luis studio here and click on update 2.

John, there was mistake made by the glass company...may or may not be good, they gave us a 5 foot piece rather than a 4 foot!

Can I use this in this size room? If so, would it be possible to do another mark-up of the drawing you did before...I want to make sure I get this room right...thank you!
