Help with Basement Setup with Numerous Obstructions

Any advice? Here's my plan for a basement control room and (small) live room. The difficulty has been working around numerous ubstructions: steel supports, central air units, chimneys, stairs, water heater, and toilet.
My major points of concern are

1. The lost space between the walls of the two rooms. Would it be better to split the live room wall into a V?
2. How to treat the control round for even sound. Could I turn the space under the steps into a base trap?

P.S. We will be recording mostly acoustic strings and vocals. i.e. folk.

Yeah some tricky bits to get around. Christopher - which way to the bearers run? These are the large beams that sit on the posts.

Also could you show where the stair meets the floor and give a better detail of the toilet area - I'm sure you don't have a sqiggley wall

The bearers run vertically on the drawing--one under each wall of the control room.

The stairs are going up from the left to the right. In other words, the access to the stairs from the basement will be from outside the control room.

No, the wall is not squiggly! (I posted a note with the drawing, but it didn't show up.) The bathroom has not been built yet. One is planned for that area because the sewer lines run near there. The only ristriction is that there is enough room for a toilet and sink. The cirlce with the WH is the water heater and should also be in the bathroom. Access to the central air will be from the bathroom and a door to the bathroom can be placed through the lower outside wall.

Does that clarify things? I greatly appreciate your assistance!

Christopher - short of replacing the bearers with steel beams that would eliminate the two center posts you could try something like this - yes the control is small but it would work and you have all the right accesses etc.

I appreciate your help, but I've made myself look silly. (I didn't think I had dyslexia, but now I'm starting to wonder...) In my second post I stated that the stairs are going up from left to right. That is NOT the case. I read and reread my e-mail and visualized everything I was saying but missed that. The stairs ARE going up from RIGHT to LEFT.

I have been pondering how the stairs might change the design that you suggested. I'm afraid I havent' thought of any good edeas yet. Any ideas for this poor confused soul?

After much deliberation with other team members, I've come to realize that the large basement layout is not going to happen. The fellow who owns the house has, however, agreed to drop the bathroom from the plans and to move the water heater out of the far end of the basement. The only constraint is that everything fit on the left side of the left bearer.

I've come up with a design that I think might do the trick for our situation, but would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

mate - I would seriously consider having double sliding glass doors instead of just one.
