Studio Design Help.

Post by replicah »

I?m a young student and decided to open up a small music studio.

Just wondering if I could get some advice on my plans.

I thought I should try and ask some pros as it can only help.

I am going to use separated walls (staggered studs) with Soundstop Plaster and Soundcheck Insulation and double windows..

I only have a few grand to spend and so I cannot build a very lush studio.

Is there any advice you can give me to help me create a better studio?

Thankyou very much for your time!

after checking out this site, i realised how bad my design was.

so i think i should go for a "Garage 2" setup.

Control in the Middle, Vocal up the tops because there are other shops there, and band room down the bottom at the back of the property.

Are there cheap sliding doors? Or they all around the $700+ mark?

The cheapest I've seen in person were $300 or 350 at Lowes.

I think he's talking US. Lowes in OZ don't sell doors - they sell cheap chinese clothes :)

Replicah - why not check out the secondhand building materials shops. Maybe you can pick up some ex shop front doors or equivalent ;)

cheers

The control room is fine if you turn it sideways and fire down the length of the room. I don't like the booth as you can't see it from the control room. May be incorporate that area in the live room and put the booth at the top of the plan??
