Firstly my thanks to all the experienced people on this forum who give their knowledge freely and with sincere effort when required, John and the Elders in Acoustic wisdom have built an amazing repository of knowledge. I hope it stays for many years as do the Members.

Dunlop Foams: Dunlop Acoustic Foams.
Dunlop foams are part of the United Bonded company in Australia & the UK including Tontine, though both companies are separate in trade. Acoustic Foam from Ultrafonic, Sound & Music and Wave panels (Could be wrong there?) all come from Dunlop Australia. Auralex and Primacoustic are overseas Companies.
Dunlop make a wide range of Acoustic Foams and re-sell to the Australian Companies listed above. If you are willing to purchase enough Acoustic Foam they should Pro Forma Invoice you. They have a wide product range though some Foams are only sold through resellers as listed. Their AA29 and 30 products Including Open cell & Closed Polyurethane are on their site. They also have a very small Home Theatre Mpeg 4 file you can download (Not the hottest advice).
You Should be able to purchase AA-29 or AA-30 Density 29/kg/m3 & 30/kg/m3 direct, though be smart and order enough $50 bucks no go...! $300 for a Booth .... Try! that will get you 17 Sq Metres or thereabout, they do deliver Sydney Metro. The NRC @ 100 Hz is .10 This Foam only kicks in from 1000-Hz to 15000-Hz hitting an average Absorption Coefficient of .95 to 1.19 - If that's what you need! See their site for details.

Thermotec: Building Materials/MLV & Acoustic Foams.
This company sprung up in the last few years, they sell everything from foam, Rigid Insulation to MLV or Thermotec Nu Wave Base in 4kg/m2 - 6kg/m2 - 8kg/m2 Foil backed or Foam backed, many facings available. (They are also under the Dunlop Banner though no one seems to know this, not even in the company! In example 4kg/m2 1.350 mm x 5000 mm costs around $130 AUD though they do not sell direct. Go through a Major supplier, they also have Marine and other materials for housing. See their site for details.

Please.....! When looking to purchase these type of Acoustic Materials do your shopping well. In Sydney, NSW their are around 5-7 major housing insulation Companies that will sell all around the "Blacktown Sydney area".
On Small orders they do make up cost by delivering with a $55-60 Charge. Unless you have a small Van or a Big Ute you will need delivery, no big 4 x 4 or Station Wagons can carry a big load of this stuff at the Australian size where batt Packs come in 2400 x 1200 mm Slabs.
Local Hardware Stores or indeed Bunnings or Mitre 10 do not carry or will order in these materials these days. It will be cheaper to search the main Insulation sales Suppliers - Go for the "Big Guys" and it will "Co$t Less".
There are a few other Insulation companies such as AGI though they do not carry anything I found worth while. I have product from all the above companies and being straight up in telling them what you want will help you as they will tell you their preferred sellers in Retail Insulation, also remember most if not all is done to order.
I do hope from my recent experiences you can also gain some insight into acquiring materials from the best places in Sydney, NSW at the best prices, be it a new "Real World" Studios or a Backyard Drum-kit "Slam Booth". Please "Post" or "PM" me if you need specific info. To find the Sellers go to Insulation http://www.yellowpages.com.au and the phone numbers and Street info will appear. The Prices mentioned are $AUD and relevant for 2008 only.
Note: I have no affiliation with any of these companies nor their resellers which is why I have left their names out so you can find them in the Yellow Pages Online.

CSR/Bradford Insulation & Building Products:

The trick on this site is to find the PDF files and then download the Handbooks which include building a Double leaf/triple/Air-Insulated etc Wall. Or The Acoustics Handbook which also has HVAC Info as well as Hard Acoustic info that is Home Theatre/Recording Studio/Machine Room and 101 Acoustics.
Some PDF Files are 3 Megabyte plus ! This one should take you directly to products. Hope that this helps, does look like a new site though! Enjoy!
