Please help! I begin construction this week! Design Flaws?
Can anyone tell me if there are any inherent design flaws to the floor plan? Room to left is drum/amp/vocal room (not to be used simultaneously by all three). 1st room to right is a closet with A/C system in 2' by 2' area of closet. 2nd room to right is the control room. Thanks, Harry
If you choose not to decide you have made a choice.

You posted this before i recall. I don;t see any design flaws in your plan.
I assume you are bulding double walls between the CR and Live rooms, I assume you are putting a window in although it is not in the plan. I think it is awkward and smelly to walk through the CR to go to the Lavatory.
Perhaps modify your closet into a mini waiting room area with a door to the Lav? and reverse the placement of the toilet and face bowl.
Just my 1/2 a penny
Bryan Giles
P.S. I have been in a studio with the restroom of the CR and you hated when people had to releive themselves adn they opened the door afterwards.
YEEECCHHHH!!!!!

What I noticed is that maybe your rear wall will need more room for absorption. I guess the low freqs could pass through the bathroom and control room entrance doors. I ditto Giles about the Head being from the control room though.
Here's a couple of shots - the second picture makes use of your door entrances as a vocal booth. The main room is smaller, but there is bathroom privacy. The first one shows a seperate entrance for the control room, but I thought it was awkward with the couch. I know John doesn't like walking through rooms to get to the control room -- I think it could be alright -- no one to sneak up on you.
Best,
Dave.
