Using the DIY wall units for small control room

Post by wiznant »

I am planning to make my bedroom a control room for my studio. It is approximately 10ft wide, 12ft long, and 10ft tall. If I construct the John sayers DIY wall units and place them as shown at this site http://www.johnlsayers.com/HR/index1.htm will this be sufficient or is my room too small? Any other suggestions will be very appreciated. I dont know much about this stuff, so detailed replys will be appreciated as well. Oh and money is tight so any less extensive ways to make my control room better for mixing will be appreciated to.

Thanks,
Allan

Hi Allan, welcome to the forum!:)

The room John depicted in the bottom diagram appears to have similar dimensions to your room. Of course, a small room is never ideal. However, if you follow John's layout, you'll be doing just about as much as you can to improve the situation.
