Hello:
I was looking at the spreadsheet data and I believe he solved for the inside of the resonator at the termanis of the port. Since helmholts resonators are about producing output at 180* out of phase at a given frequency, the curve should reflect the sum of the resonator output and the exciting sound. As in: The amplitude begins to rise then falls below ambient at 180* then returns to ambient.

Boy it has been a while. The contractors finally agreed to fix the ceilings in our new building. I did some preliminary tests of the control room and all I can say is WOW!! The midrange mud problem was primarily the ceiling structure. As soon as they are done with the other rooms I will test the RT-60 and fz response. The wheels of the college turn r-e-a-l s-l-o-w. Now that this problem is out of the way I must begin designing the remaining "front of room" acoustic treatments for the 2 control rooms and the general "sound" of the studio.
