How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

I had a lot of fun off-roading in that thing... it had tremendous clearance, excellent atriculation, and more HP than I ever needed.

As always, the weakest link is the 4x4 transfer box. Which is why I always carried around TWO such units in the bed of the truck, with a 5 gal gas bottle of fluid, two full gasket sets, and several u-joint pullers.

Got pretty good at swapping them out with the truck in weird positions, over logs, rocks, et al. It only really sucked when it breaks while you're over the axles in gooey mud :( Don't drop any tools. The trick is to your use your plastic, folding creaper as a floating tool tray, and take off your shoes does you don't lose them in the goo.
