moving?

Post by sjoko2 »

Hey guys!
Finally managed to get in here ... (there was something f'd up with my name / log-in).

So, building a studio eh? Believe it or not, I'm contemplating moving and starting again.
Its getting to busy here, with one control room and one mastering suite, so I'm thinking of selling up and have been looking at an industrial unit to built a new studio in, which would have to comprise:
- offices
- at least 2 control rooms
- 2 large tracking rooms and 2 booths
- a mastering suite
- an audio post production room
- one or 2 editing suites

As you might have guessed from the above, I'm more and more getting into suond-for-film as well, rather than doing just music, and am busy amalgamating the audio side with the film editing and post side of a local film company, one that is sponsored by Sony and works exclusively in Sony's new high-def film format.

OK, that's the situ so far - the nice thing will be working within a building, which will allow us to create what the hell we like.
The worst thing - downtime - as the sale of this place will have to pay for the construction of the new - and the loss of a beautifull and acoustically brilliant room.

In conclusion, I will most likely spend a lot more time on this forum milking everyone's brains :)

And finally, if you want to hear some of the stuff we did here apart from the label stuff, which I obviously can't post, some of it is on
http://www.broadjam.com
look for a band called Gugga Qwan (Sustain is a cool song)
and of cause, I've pasted some of my friend Uru songs as well (for those of you who know / know of her, she is doing all the music for Sony's launch of High Definition Film and is working on the soundtrack for a film.

Good to be back :)

:D There is NO WAY I'm going to do all the building.
The idea is to set up a sceleton system in an office of the building, so I can carry on working on music, and have the studio pre-fab done as much as possible. In other words, use wall panels made off-site.
