Control room ideas

I’m trying to decide on what layout to use for my control room. I like the first one because it gives me a bit more space but I’m not sure it would sound as good as the second. Both designs are set up for 5.1 surround. In the first I would mount the rear speakers on stands and in the second I would have them soffit mounted. Here are the 2 basic designs I have been thinking about. Any thoughts on which way I should go?

Well as drawing 2 is a copy of Guruland naturally I'd go with that version.
