A while back I asked a question about straw bale construction...well, I am at it again.
My wife is about to get her degree in civil engineering and is interested in a eco-friendly type of construction known as cob (like adobe, but with straw mixed in as a sort of organic rebar). The technique is well researched and sound, and is even touted by some as being a good method of studio construction for the following reasons:
1. Walls are thick and massive (good for stc)
2. Walls are thick and massive (good for r-factor)
3. The walls can be designed with unusual angles at NO EXTRA COST
4. It is dirt cheap (pun intended)
So my question...how might you design a little studio (control room, live room, dead room) if the walls could be ANY shape? Without the limitations of more "linear" construction materials.
