Newbie here , be gentle .
Just like to say I've only just found this site , but there's loads of really good info here.

As the subject says , is anyone here in the UK ?
Most of the posters seem to be in Oz or the US ?

I'm after various materials for a small home studio project , 704 sheet and deadsheet .
Need a UK supplier if possible.

704? What is that? Use Bob's Absorption page to look for equivalent absorption products. Isover, Knauf, and Rockwool are just three of makers selling in the UK. Travis & Perkins for home type materials. Commercial (boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, etc) supliers for other absorption materials.

704 is the Owens Corning sheet that seems to be the favourite for absorbers and bass traps .

We have a builders merchant over here called Wickes that sell a "heavy density " insulation

Not sure if this would do the job ?

I've taken a look at some of the Realtraps panels and they seem quite lightweight in comparison to the Wickes slabs .

703 is the generic name used.Read this for more on 703

There is no density data or other information that I could find on the site. Probably, acceptable.

What job? Different applications are better for different materials.

I'm building a small project control room into a spare bedroom , and also a vocal/instrument booth into a box room.

I was contemplating a mixture of deadsheet and HD rockwool for the vocal booth as used by SOS .

as an aside , I work in a University , we started a Music Tech course last year , and have used these .

They seem to work on a thin ply or MDF surface with a rockwool filled cavity .
Different panels have different sized slots for tuning .

They're very good for recording and mixing in , neutral and controlled without being dead.

I live in Jersey Channel Islands.


A very small but very over poppulated islands, full of fat greedy bankers, who care little for music.
Bit like the Blue Meanies from the yellow submarine but more boring, smelly, arrogant and nasty.

As I live on a small island, I will will probably have to order most of the insulation materials off the net.
However, I have found 2 local companies that do spray cellulose fibre and other spray insulation treatment that I plan to use for the floating inner room.

Just the rest of the stuff I will have to import.
