Small studio to get your teeth into!!

Post by Big Ted »

Evening gentelmen.
Well this is my first post,so please take it easy with me!!..
I have recently purchased a house in the north of England.
with enough spare land to build a small studio, :D :D
there are some exsisting out buildings that need to be demolished
this would then give me a 22 foot by 15 foot brick outer shell
I need a small live room to record vocals,guitar/bass.also brass
and maybe in the future drums.
now I have beev lurking about on this fab site for awhile now
and it seems you guys come up with some amazing designs,
would you be so kind as to point me in the right direction
as far as sound proofing ie inner walls etc and a space saving design
for CR and recording area I will try to post a Drawing
but it`s my first time with smart draw too so please bare with me

Thanks in advance Ted..

I think Bryan Giles studio is around 21 x 13 or so.

This would give you roughly two 11 x 15 rooms <Control/Live> which may work.

Hey Ted

The design had no door in it, I modified the plan here at my facility adding a door to it where I needed it.

This is the basic set up I have at the moment
Im thinking about creating a passage
to the south of the building as you look at it on plan
to the north I have people living with in 20ft
there for good sound isolation is essential!
I hoped the passage would allow people to come and go
with out to mutch sound spill from the studio
maybe a vocal booth to the south west corner to utilise the space
any suggestions are wellcome
thanks in advance Ted
