"Final" Layout -- Comments, please...

Post by JRSGodfrey »

OK,

After fiddling for months, I've come back, more or less, to the original design I posted, seen here:

http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewt ... highlight=

I've attached the refined version, which is based on the "60 degree" sketch Mr. Sayers attached to another post. The drawing is very close to scale, but not exact.

Thanks to input from Knightfly and others, it will all be constructed within a well sealed room. The pink is all fiberglass of different sorts -- packed loosely around the flush mount speakers and hung in the wall cavity. In the rear it is 6" of 1" 703 panels in frames, 2'x4', hung on the topmost 4' of the wall. To the sides of the mix position, 1" 703 in cloth flush to the wall. The angled side walls are slot absorbers similar to the wall units in the Manual. The ceiling will be treated with 1" 703 overall.

My main uncertainty is that the design I copied will work on this small scale.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

7 feet, a little less maybe with two layers sheetrock and the 703.

Thanks.

I haven't come up with a flush-mount wall design yet. Leaning toward keepin the monitors on stands and building a wall around that.
