Thanks for reading this out first off. I see alot of people who need help, and it is very cool of those of you who give your time to help us less knowledgable out.
Ok, here goes..
The 2 plans i attached are the layout of the current studio i have now, and the idea i have for the new control room.. The bottom plan is my current setup..
My current control room is just too small, and I was just staying in there temporarily until i had more funds to make the new control room, which i am now ready for..
There is not too much 'give' for doing the control room anywhere else, but i would be honored if any of you could shed some ideas as to how i may be able to make the best with my existing space..
(i included 2 photos of the current studio - top photo is of the front door, bathroom door, amp iso booth. the bottom photo is of the space where the new control room will go, and u can see the angles walls))
i have a good construction background, and will be doing all the work myself.. I have a pretty decent budget for all supplies, and parts, and i have a decent knowledge of baffles, absorbers, etc.
thanks so much

I can see why you want a new control room
but I'm not sure that your option is the way to go. The first problem is that you need to go through the studio to get to the control room - bad ergonomics - the room you've allocated for the control room is long and narrow - hard to get a good speaker geometry in a narrow room like that - I can't access a drawing program at the moment cos I'm still in the internet cafe but I'd look at creating a control room directly opposite your existing one
are you around Dave??

John,
Very cool design, thanks..
My only concern would be: If you look at the 2nd photo of the current studio, notice the slanted ceiling. It cuts down my actual living space by quite a bit. That half moon of stainedglass is the wall that is 22'4 that you had as the back wall of the live drum room..
I think the live room may be too small if i do it that way..
What do you think..
I know i threw ya a curveball with my odd shaped space..
thanks again for your time..

Anthony - is the ceiling angled over the current couch area as well ? - it's hard to determine from the picture. If so , you are right - it reallly limits the size of the new live room.
It appears you realy have to work out whether you want a decent sized control room or a good sized live room.
cheers

yeah, john,
here is a photo of the couch where it currently is in the live room..
Notice the weird angles.. I guess i really have to decide what i want to be bigger, like you said..
Tough decisions. I do like a big live room, so bands can jam in the same room, but have all the cabs in iso booths..
hmm, i will have to think about it more..
thanks again..
