The Rockwool/Mineralwool is not as rigid as the fiberglass 703. It fairly easy to work with though. I found that cutting it w/ a filet knife works great.
You'll have to do a search on the difference of 703 & wool products. Someone here (maybe Steve) posted it somewhere on the site what the differences are. As far as acoustics, they are relatively close to the same. Cost difference (from my experience here in Nashville), the 703 was 3-5 times higher than Roxul and I could only get 703 at a maximum of 2".
