OK. I need to caulk the floor, ceiling, door frame and window frame gaps for the existing walls, etc in my studio space. These surfaces are just the shell. I will be constructing rooms for the studio within the space but not attached to any of these walls, door, windows etc.
I just boughy a number of tubes of GE Silicone II Window and Door caulk and before I open them, I want to make sure these are going to work for sound control and sealing the shell.

Carl, it doesn't sound to me like that will work very well - nowhere does it claim not to shrink. In fact, on that site, only one of their products sounds like a possible - it's this one

You want something that is heavy bodied, and will NOT shrink or crack. Not something that "only shrinks a little bit"... Steve

I just checked the actual tubes I bought and it says "WILL NOT SHRINK" as the second point. Also lifetime guarantee not to shrink or crack. So would it still qualify? THe one on the website is a different lable then on the tubes I bought. I'd hate to run around again to return them since it's just for the existing walls and I will deffinetly get the USG Acoustic Sealant for the studio rooms.
