I am looking to move away from my Mackie HR-824s (anyone wanna buy em?), and I have come across some N.I.B. B&W DM-602s for very cheap. My experience with Mackies has taught me that my ears really like to work on mild (not hyped) sounding speakers, and it looks like the 602s fit the bill. The TapeOp board has suggested these as great entry level monitors, and and I am really eager to move away from active speakers.
Any opinions on these? I could get them for $400, and I already have a 400W Marantz amp that I plan to use with them. I doubt that I can get speakers in this league for that price.
B&W 602s?
