hemholtz resonator

Post by james arnold »

Can somebody please explain the physics of how there suppose to work. I understand what the insulation. but what resonates? the slats? do they vibrate or resonate? and why would you want them to resonate in the first place? to disperse energy?. I want to build some for my control room I just don't understand the concept behind the design.

The air in the cavity resonates - it's tha same principle as blowing across the neck of a bottle and producing a note - the insulation absorbs the resonance.
