Bedroom Dilemma

Hi im new to the forum and i wanted to know whats the best i can do to improve the acoustics in my bedroom. This is pretty much where i do all the mixing and recording (just vocals). This is like a typical bedroom in England. The 4 ft bump on the middle of the room is a chimney breast from the downstairs. Cant get it off coz its where the strength of the house is so im gonna hav to live with it. Im looking for a temporary solution as far as acoustics go because as soon as i get my garage converted into a room im gonna move all my stuff there. But dats still a year from now and i have lots of projects to finish.

Dont know if which placing is gonna best for the listening position.

Rearranged setup (I feel more comfy with this arrangement, i dnt have to stand up when im sampling records) Dnt know if i made it worst for mixing. people suggested putting bass traps on the corner at the back of my monitors.

Top View Sketch (i tried my best ) Height is 8 Ft and everything else is in the pic below. The windows are double glaze dnt know if dat helps, floors are carpet. The radiators are switched off. All the drawers and tables are wood, the walls are concrete.

A rectangle room is a rectangle room, so a fancy drawing is not needed anyway. I don't see any specific questions, so here's some general advice:

Room treatment is a deep subject, and a complete answer requires far more than will fit into a single reply here. The short version is:

* Broadband (not tuned) bass traps in as many corners as you can manage, including the wall-ceiling corners.

* Mid/high frequency absorption at the first reflection points on the side walls and ceiling.

* Some additional amount of mid/high absorption on any large areas of bare parallel surfaces, such as opposing walls or the ceiling if the floor is reflective.
