Recording in Process Light

Post by Terence »

Hi

I am new to the forum, but will try my best to give as much info as possible.

My question is a simple one.

I have a DDX3216 console, and run Cubase as my multi track recorder.

I would like to know if there is a way to conect a light that can be mounted outside the studio door that will light up when the spacebar (Record) button is pressed in cubase.

Many thanx for the wealth of info that is avalible on this forum

Greetings and welcome to the site.

Hmmm. Good question. I'm not familiar enough w/ Cubase, but I'll take a stab in the dark.

You might be able to trigger it from Midi or Midi Time Code. You would probably need some type of sync box, that in turn could trigger a relay.

In reality though, you'll probably be better off just getting a switch and manually pushing the button.

Next, you need to learn enough about Cubase to know if you can either configure Cubase to output a specific message when entering record, or ask midisolutions how to do it; if they wanna sell their little box, they may actually try to help... Steve
